Never too late

This evening was to be no different from the others. Maybe only that daddy didn't go to the Christmas party with them. And the fact that mommy was screaming the name of a stranger man. Then there was emptiness and a silence that shattered the heart of a six-year-old girl trapped in the car.

Emma lived a quiet life as a wife and young mother. But everything has crumbled like a house of cards when in the kitchen she came face to face with David's missing daughter from his first marriage. What secrets is the girl hiding? What is behind her cool way of being and the wall of hatred she has built around herself? How much anger can a little girl feel? How much suffering can her story hide?

For a reader who is new to Rachel Abbott, the book may seem simple at first and the story may seem simplified. However, fans of the English writer will know from the beginning that behind the sad eyes of a child there are terrible things and secrets that many adults would not be able to cope with. Orphaned and abandoned years ago, Natasha returns to her family home with the intention of revenge. It is not easy for her father and stepmother to reach a girl who is focused only on one goal - to inflict as much pain on her father as possible.

When Tasha helps kidnap her stepbrother, Emma decides to take matters into her own hands. With the help of the always irreplaceable Thomas Douglas, she manages not only to solve the mysteries of Tasha's past, but also to find answers to questions that have been troubling her for years about her own past.

As always, the book keeps you in suspense. It triggers positive emotions as well as a whole range of negative feelings. And until the end, it allows the reader to believe that everything will be fine.

Only is it still possible to save Tasha?
